Get from Raw Recording to Polished Lesson in Minutes

A step-by-step guide to running your first video through Video Distill Explain.

1. Sign in & top up free credits

The moment you create an account we drop 100 credits into your wallet. That covers a few minutes of content, but let’s not live dangerously—click Add 500 Free Credits (look for the lightning-bolt button) and you’ll start with 600 credits. Plenty of headroom for a full lecture.

2. Upload your video

Head to the Upload pane and drag-and-drop your recording. We’ll stick with our favourite Fuel Cells 101 lecture for this demo, but the same routine works for any educational, training or meeting footage. Hit Play if you want a quick reminder of the raw audio quality you’re about to fix.

3. Fire off Full Processing

Smash the Full Processing button and let the AI loose. You’ll see a tiny running-man icon and progress messages for each step—transcription, correction, improvement, revoicing, trimming, assembly. Processing time scales with length; a 50-minute lecture typically wraps up in under half an hour.

4. Preview the polished result

When the status messages vanish and the running icon says adiós, your new video is ready. Hit Preview to watch a clean, evenly-paced version narrated by our synthetic voice. Underneath, you’ll notice a slide-aware transcript that scrolls in sync.

5. Tweak transcript & slide detection (optional)

Want to fine-tune wording or change formality? Edit the text directly or hop into Transcription Settings. Here you can adjust the slide change threshold—a handy graph shows peaks at each transition. Drag the threshold so it intersects the peaks, not the background noise, for laser-sharp slide splits.

After edits, click Transcribe Now to regenerate the text, then pop into the Revoice tab and create a fresh video with your new script.

6. Download everything

Revoiced MP4 – exactly what you see in the preview.
Transcript & SRT – perfect for accessibility or translations.
Slides (PNG) & slide-scoped notes – instant study aids.
Lecture notes, summary & questions – ready for your LMS.
Script – for anyone who prefers recording in their own voice.

7. Explore advanced tools

When you’re comfortable, check out the Audio Review pane for per-sentence tweaks, or flip the switch to Expert Mode for granular control of every processing step. Those goodies deserve their own tutorial—consider this your launchpad.
